Lyrics

He Knows Not Who I Am

My father has dementia,
He knows not who I am,
I guess it’s cause I’ve lived so far away
My brothers and sisters,
he warmly welcomes them,
and asks if they have a place to stay.

Chorus,
I know it’s not my Fathers fault,
There's only me to blame,
I spent my life away from him.
Now He wants me to depart,
He doesn't know my name
How I wish He'd welcome me in!

Verse
I dreamt of God the other night
And all of us were there.
on his left and on his right
To see the mansions he did prepare.
Those on His right He welcomed them,
They rejoiced with thankful heart!
To us on the left God did condemn
And said, I know thee not, Depart!

Then I awoke,, , I still have hope!

Chorus,
My father in Heaven
He knows not who I am,
I need to get back on HIS narrow way!
I pray Lord, when I come to Thee again
On Thy right hand I'm allowed to stay
Bridge
Closing chorus
I know it's not my Father's fault
There's no one but me to blame.
I spent my life away from Him
Now , He wants me to depart
He doesn't know my name
I pray one day , He'll welcome me in!
It's not too late to change my ways!
I'll try to be more like Him.
That on that Day I may hear God say my name ,
and that I may enter in!
