Lyrics

Verse
Growing up on a farm , wasn't all that fun.
I had to get up before, the morning sun.
And go out and milk , that cow of ours.
In heat or cold , or snow or showers
She would flick me , with her dirty tail
And sometimes kick and I'd spill the pail
Milking twice a day , was one of my chores,
Then I begged dad ,Please, just buy it from stores
He said,
Chorus E
very boy needs a milk cow, He needs something to do
Every boy needs to be about Before the sky turns blue
So while other boys dream of success,
And I want that for you. learning to work is the best,
To make a man, ooh ooh, out of you!
Verse
My cousin lived, in a big town.
He took papers all around
He got up fore, the morning sun.
Rain, snow ,weekends it wasn't fun.
people got mad if, it wasn't delivered right.
Some had dogs, which tried to bite!
This was one of his chores
He begged his Dad , to just sell them in stores.
He said,
Chorus
Every boy needs a paper route He needs something to do
Every boy needs to be about Before the sky turns blue
So while other boys dream of success
And I want that for you.
learning to work is the best, To make a man, ooh Ooh out of you!
Verse,
On Sunday ,We went to church which wasn't much fun I
longed to go fishing with friends in the sun
I learned of God and heaven and hell .
Which made me fear that's where I'd dwell! T
hose pews were hard, And hurt my rear end.
I guess I was bored, Or didn’t comprehend!
I snuck out once between, Dads snores
He caught me at, the candy store,
He said,
Chorus
Every boy needs to go to church, They need to sit in a pew
Every boy needs to pray n search Before the sky turns blue
Faith in God made our country great, His word will teach you what’s true
Gods love will, destroy hate And make a good man, Ooh ooh, out of you!
Verse
I disagreed with Dad then, but I agree now!
My boy had no paper route, And never milked a cow.
He won’t go to church, and he won’t pray
He’d rather watch, tv all day
Train a child in his youth And he won’t go astray
I wish I’d taught this truth
And it haunts me, Ooh ooh every day!
Chorus,
Every boy needs a milk cow Or something to do
Every boy needs God now I know this is true
I should have bought My boy a milk cow
But it’s too late to do now
Ooh, ooh, ooh ,ooh
I pray it’s not too late for you.
