That Voice inside-Soul
Verse
At church the preacher said we must do Gods work
I thought that's one more thing for me to shirk!
But I felt uneasy when he said it was crucial
For me not to hide my light , Beneath a bushel .
He said ,let your light shine before all men !
But I was hoping this service would soon end?
Then a voice inside me spoke and i knew it was true
Why hide your light neath a bushel when a thimble will do?
Chorus
That voice inside , It just won’t hide
As I get blinded by my pride
Then I knew God knew, who I am.
And that my faith was just a sham
How had my light become so dim
That voice whispered , “you’ve forgotten him
So forget your pride said that voice inside
Then I prayed my light may be magnified
And That I’ll heed that voice inside
Verse
My friend who went to church long ago
Dislikes hypocrites putting on a show
says those meetings are Such a bore
I said “You'll fit right in , and there’s room for more.
But As I drove to the store that day
I recalled those beggars along the way
I thought I’d take another road I knew
Then that voice said , "you’re a beggar too!"
Chorus
That voice inside , It just won’t hide
As I get blinded by my pride
Then I knew God knew, who I am.
And that my faith was just a sham
many times, I’d begged him on my knees
And he'd answered my many pleas
we’re all beggars before Gods Throne
But if we’re full of pride, we’ won't make it home
